Teenage Dream & Sex on the Beach

I recently discovered "Luxe Box," Canada's version of Birch Box. I purchased the May box, and in it I received a deluxe sample size of China Glaze nail polish, in the colour "Sex on the Beach." It's a shimmery pink which I thought would be perfect under Katy Perry's teenage dream. Its pretty much the exact same colour, and serves as a great base because it blends in with the polish and makes it less sheer.
And here's a picture that I found on Google of someone just wearing Teenage Dream.

Here are my nails with two coats of Sex on the Beach and 2 coats of Teenage Dream. This picture is not the greatest quality but basically my nails are not sheer at all.
I really think that if you love Teenage Dream but would like to make it less sheer without really changing how it looks then this is the PERFECT base!

Charlotte Rousse Jewelry

If you knew me you would probably know that I am a huge fan of Charlotte Russe Jewelry. Charlotte Russe is a chain of stores in the USA that sell clothes, shoes and accessories. Although I live in Canada, I live pretty close to the border and go shopping in the States regularly. I love Charlotte Russe's jewelry for two simple reasons: 1) because it is cute & 2) because it is cheap. I'm a bit of a jewelry nut in general because it adds personality to your outfit and it's a cheap and easy way to play around with your look. The majority of my jewelry is from Charlotte Russe; especially my rings, which I have included a picture of. I barely buy any jewelry in Canada because no stores have that cheap of prices! The only ones I can think of that compare are H&M and Forever 21, both stores that aren't too close to me. Whenever you go into Charlotte Russe there are always rings, bracelets and earrings that are 2 for 8 dollars. The necklaces usually start at around 6 dollars. This store is by far the best and most affordable place I have found to find really cute jewelry that is on trend. It's my go-to place! If you're reading this and you have a favorite place to find jewelry let me know in the comments!

Above is a picture of the majority of my Charlotte Russe rings. I have bought a few others in the past that have either been lost or broken, sadly. (The ones that broke were dropped multiple times. Their jewelry does not break easily.)

Rusk Hairspray Review

I was sitting here wondering what I could do a post about to get this blog going, and I thought of my Rusk w8less plus hairspray. I received this hairspray for Christmas this year from my sister. However, I became addicted to it months before that because she had bought it and I would always steal hers (probably why she bought me my own! lol). This then led to my friend liking my hairspray so much that she went out and bought her own.  Before using the Rusk hairspray I had only used drugstore hairsprays- usually Pantene Pro-V. I found that those always felt really heavy and sticky. The Rusk w8less spray is the opposite of that, which is why I love it. It is really light when it sprays on and doesnt leave your hair feeling hard or sticky. Yet, it still does it's job of holding your hair in place. Plus, it smells amazing. After using this I knew I'd probably never use a drugstore hairspray again. Of course, I definitely cannot say that all of them are bad because I have not tried them all- but I'll probably just stick to Rusk if I can. Rusk is a brand that is sold in beauty salons so I'm sure it's a little pricy if you pay retail. However, if you're like me and live in British Columbia, Winners carries this brand often and you have a good chance of finding it there. My sister got my bottle there for $8.99.

Seche Vite Review

I recently picked up a bottle of Seche Vite at Sally Beauty Supply. I wasn't in dire need for a new top coat, but my friend was raving about it to me so naturally I became curious and had to try it. Plus, I had a coupon for Sally that I got when I signed up for their membership (If you're not a member you should be!) So I've used it a few times and I have to say I'm impressed. It dries nice and fast (hence the name "seche vite"- means dry fast in French) and the most noticeable thing was that my nail polish lasted longer without chipping. This is in comparison to the two other top coats I have used recently, which were the Sally Hansen No Chip, and the Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat. I'll definitely be using the Sally Hansen on my toes from now on and Seche Vite on my nails. I also might as well throw it out there that I don't recommend the Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat at all. It starts off working well and about halfway through the bottle becomes thick and goopy. Their base coat that I also own has done the same thing, which is why I'm so eager to get through the one I currently own. Seche Vite retails at Sally Beauty Supply for $7.99 and is currently on sale for $5.99.

ELF Eyelid Primer vs Urban Decay Primer Potion

A few months ago I discovered ELF cosmetics and ordered a bunch of stuff off of their site. Needless to say, it was all amazing and I loved it. I had ordered the eyelid primer for $1 because I wanted one, and they are kind of hard to find unless you go to MAC or somewhere else that's pretty pricy. Also not too long ago I finally purchased an Urban Decay Naked Palette which I was not so patiently waiting on for a long time. It came with a mini primer potion, and I was pretty curious to see how it would work compared to my ELF primer. And to be honest, so far I have found that these two primers work equally well. I loved the elf primer to begin with because it really helped my eyeshadow stay on longer. And the urban decay primer does the exact same thing. I even noticed that they have a very similar color and texture, and so far I have found that the results are the same. If you gave me one in an anonymous bottle I wouldn't even know what I was using! So I'm sure you can predict that I'm going to say that I obviously recommend the ELF Primer because it's only 1 dollar! :)

I did swatches of each of them on my hand to show that they look very similar. I know they are kinda hard to see. But the UD one is on top and the ELF one is on the bottom.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Review

I recently sought out to buy a deep conditioner for my hair, and after doing a bit of research on the internet it seemed that a lot of people liked Aussie 3 Minute Miracle. So I went out a bought a bottle at Target, and I was happy to see that it actually gives you results. My hair was visibly softer and smoother after using it. And the best part is it only costs about 3 bucks! So don't sleep on this one, I totally recommend it.  And even if you somehow don't see too strong of results, it still smells amazing and only cost you a few dollars!
